Brian’s a Bad Father
Brian’s not a bad father. He’s not a father – he’s the bastard son of Cujo.
Story
Brian’s son, Dylan, has come back to Quahog, only for Brian to attempt to seize control of the show he’s working on, backfiring badly. Later Peter unremorsefully and deliberately shoots Quagmire with a gun, severing the friendship.

Random Facts
Often ranked as one of the most hated episodes of Family Guy. Some viewers put this above Fresh Heir (PhantomStrider and Mr. Enter).
Dylan (as far as I know) isn’t heard of again after this episode.

Random Opinions
Telling the viewers they’re 14 and then proceeding to ask a question of which way to slit ones’ wrists to commit suicide is horrifically low. I think PhantomStrider and (yes I hate to mention him…) Mr. Enter said it right with this scene. Really now, there’s just some things not meant to be said or done.
Stewie’s little monologue to Dylan is horrendous. Better to take a risk than not having a dad? Brian had used Dylan for his own selfish desires and it’s implied that he’ll do it again or do something much worse. It may be true that Brian wouldn’t act any worse than Frollo or Carrie’s mother (from Carrie (1976)) but it’s not worth the risk. This is a very bad lesson that goes the wrong way very fast.

| One problem with season 12 is the gruesome imagery. Peter gets part of his head blown off. | The episode tells viewers how to kill themselves after saying they’re 14. I’m dead serious. | Judas Priest got in trouble for a song where it said “do it” at one point and some intoxicated idiots committed suicide, yet Family Guy doesn’t? | Except for the MGM cutaway there is almost nothing redeemable through the voices. Stewie’s monologue is awful. | No effort in keeping the characters in line. Brian and Peter should’ve been killed off after what this season showed us. |
Rating: 4/50 – Didn’t Try (0.5/10)
The wrist slitting scene automatically eradicated every single point for writing and tolerance. Never, and I repeat, never make a joke like that on a TV-14 show. Never. Never do that.
Stewie, next time Brian gets hit by a car, do not bring him back. Just leave him dead.
