Once again, no jawbreakers for the Eds. But alas, Rolf needs help on his farm, and he takes Ed to be his “nincompoop” only to fail at being a good boss.

Ed’s task is to peel an entire shed’s worth of potatoes – roughly ten zillion according to Eddy, and if he doesn’t get it done before Rolf gets back he’ll get the axe.

Rolf starts off by charging “rental fees” for shoes and a potato peeler, later to deduct the hell out of Ed’s pay for a bad peeling job, Edd and Eddy in the shed, and for having the potatoes cut for making fries.

Edd and Eddy are disappointed by the pay deductions; while Eddy resorts to forcing a strike chanting “Rolf’s a jerk! Ain’t gonna work!”, while Edd goes to have a talk with Rolf.

And of course Eddy pays the price for his arrogant behavior by having HIS own pay deducted by Ed!! Payback’s a bitch, ain’t it?

I don’t think it can be stressed enough that this episode is an instant classic. Just about everything that comes out of Rolf’s mouth from him saying “The waste from this peel could feed an entire village for a week!!” and “The spud has been shamed!” is hilarious.

The potato peeling job seems like it comes from some of the World War 2 Donald Duck shorts.

“Ed you’re too young to drive!” could be in the top 10 greatest moments of this show.

Presumably Rolf had Ed working at minimum wage, so him deducting pay would’ve resulted in legal trouble.
