Kronk’s New Groove (2005)
Did anyone even care that Kronk was getting a new groove?
Brief Backstory
Still too lazy to make any actual new 2D animated features, Disney decided to pull yet another tediously annoying cheapquel out of asses.
Story
Kronk gets a new groove by being himself. That’s… about it.
Random Facts
This was John Fiedler’s final work. To have voiced Piglet for decades, working in other movies like John Wayne’s True Grit, and finally being involved in a notoriously bad movie; just like Joe C. in Kill the Alligator and Run (on the other hand he was in Osmosis Jones so that’s a bit of an improvement).
Tracy Ullman does voice work in this – her show began the Simpsons and would later voice a character in Bart’s Dog gets an F.
Random Opinions
Patrick Warburton’s a really good voice actor.
Jason from Friday the 13th or her mother would’ve made this so much better.
Pros
- It’s not as much of a disaster as any of the hurricanes in 2005.
- Animation is identical to the first.
Cons
- You’re not going to enjoy this without drinking can after can of Natural Ice.
- Just about every joke in this movie is reused from the Emperor’s New Groove. Lazy as fuck. I almost wonder if this was written by Kronk himself.
- ANOTHER fucking multi-segment cheapquel? God damn.
- Yzma’s plot involves scamming old people. Cliched as hell and a pathetic downgrade from attempted regicide prior.
- Kronk himself worked much better as a character who appeared as much as a monster in a old horror movie.
Rating: 2/10 – Terrible
Honestly who the hell cared about Kronk getting a new groove? This was awful!!
