Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk

Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk

Burns finally goes into retirement.

Story

Springfield Nuclear Power Plant is sold to some German businessmen who fire Homer for being a useless slob and fail at trying to fix the plant.

Famous Land of Chocolate scene.

Random Facts

Famous for the sequence where Homer envisions himself in an edible land. This entire sequence was from the mind of the late Sam Simon. It was also spoofed in some other shows like Dexter’s Lab where Dad (the character) envisioned himself as the king of muffins.

Homer’s trouble with a vending machine happens in some other episodes, but not many. Homer the Great is the epitome of this.

The title of the episode in English is “Burns to sell the Power Plant”

Homer’s been fired before in Homer’s Odyssey.

Random Opinions

Glad to see most snack machines allow the use of cards. Homer’s frustration with the dollar bill doesn’t make me want to go back to that. Least it doesn’t demand exact change like the ones in Sealab 2021 or JumpStart 1st Grade did for Homer’s sake. Homer would have a fit.

Cutting out the Land of Chocolate scene makes this episode seem a little less… well… existent.

I’m surprised Moe didn’t murder Bart for the amount of times he’s prank called him – around now it’s been common. The prank calls would dramatically disappear after the next season, probably for the best since it would’ve gotten too stale. Still though bits and pieces of the setup would creep in.

And I say to myself, I need exact change.

Probably the best looking episode for the season. If you take the Land of Chocolate sequence out this one doesn’t stand out as much. Nevertheless the writing’s top notch still.Like many of the season 3 episodes, easy to watch. No cringy shit here.One-time characters are perfectly written.

Rating: 49/50 – Amazing (9/10)

Another must-watch for anyone checking out the early days of the Simpsons. Around the same quality of Homer’s Enemy and Marge vs. the Monorail.
