Tomacco – the marriage of tobacco and tomato

Story

Homer goes on a slapping rampage, demanding satisfaction and challenging random people to a duel… until a colonel actually accepts to duel. In hopes that the colonel will go away, Homer and the rest of his family hide away at a farm where Homer grows bad tasting but addictive vegetables known as tomacco and sells them to everyone and helping spread heart disease and lung cancer.

Sampling tomacco and taking years off his life.

Random Facts

Someone actually managed to make tomacco in real life in 2003, which was not too long after this episode came out. On the season 11 DVD (presumably the first disc), the creator of tomacco shares his thoughts.

Tomacco plants were featured in the Simpsons Hit and Run.

The colonel’s voice is identical to Foghorn Leghorn from the Looney Tunes.

Unlike quite a number of episodes in seasons 11 and 12, round robin is not an issue.

Random Opinions

I almost wonder if the asswipe that founded the Heart Attack Grill (seriously how is that place not shut down for poisoning people) thought about remaking tomacco and using it on his toxic burgers since tobacco use is often considered the #1 worst thing for hearts – yes even worse than being overweight and/or alcoholism though those two can also cause heart issues.

Seems like seasons 11-13 had some major animation errors throughout. At one point Lisa has three arms and this error was seen in some other episodes.

Challenging the wrong guy.

Animation errors are a little rampant in season 11.Avoids the round robin curse that damages some of the episodes of this season.Another easy to watch episode.Like most Simpsons episodes, not many audio issues. For those irritated with Jerkass Homer, him getting shot is soothing.

Rating: 36/50 – Great (8/10)

Great episode from season 11, which was a season that had some serious mistakes. Eating tomacco however is not recommended nor is slapping people and demanding duels.
