Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985)
Freddy’s coming, and he’s coming out.
Brief Backstory
Nightmare on Elm Street became a success, which of course led to some sequels being made. The second movie, Freddy’s Revenge, was not as acclaimed, but remained as a cult classic, particularly to the LGBT+ community.
Story
Freddy returns to Springwood, Ohio, this time possessing Jesse Walsh, presumably to frame him.

Random Opinions
There’s more deaths this one however they aren’t as intense or as creative as before.
Pros
- I liked the way how Freddy possessed Jesse.
- The percussion music used when Schneider is being dragged is catchy as hell.
- Schneider gets his debt to society paid.
Cons
- Some of the deaths aren’t as creative.
- I find Schneider to be somewhat disturbing – what was he going to do with the jump rope?
Rating: 6/10 – Decent
Doesn’t live up to the original, but has some good scenes. I’d skip this one and go to 3 if I were you, but if you’re watching them in order then yeah see it.
